juan garcia esquivel, '58. they call him the king of space age pop. this stuff is kaleidoscopic colours of excitement superposed over familiar tunes and forms. sounds cartoony n moviey in the best of all possible ways with the obnoxious horns n schmaltzy strings. the whole idea here is that esquivel is really good at arranging. he didn't 'write' any of the 'songs', but he arranged them into the seventh dimension.
