italian prog rock. these guys put out only this album but it's really cool. as the buddha said, while a band desires a tonality, his mind is bound as closely as a calf to its mother. and in general these guys stick to traditional tonality more closely than the A list prog bands but then there are these interludes with flute and piano that sound like modern classical music, farther from tonality than any of the A listers ever went. sometimes the singer veers dangerously close to Chad Kroeger rock territory but ultimately his italian appreciation for all things good prevails. cool contrapuntal interludes and cool use of melodic themes developing throughout the whole thing. i give it music out of tent stars.
