"i love my christie well well"
what can you say about dudes who don't even have a wiki? this is highlife music from ghana, 1981. it's guitar, drums, and bass, but not in the way you're used too. the songs are long because you will be dancing to them and you won't want them to end.
i first heard this on the U of T radio station (CIUT 89.5 for toronto folk) and it was obnoxiously awesome immediately, like a smell that punches you in the face. the song was 'i go die for you'. 'every time they talken about my christie, i den laugh... because... i love my christie well well'. is he talking about the afroed goddess on the album cover or jesus?
these songs stretch moments to hundreds of times their original length, like a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper folded so many times it reaches the moon. they're trancelike and blissful.
